Laughter Makes a Marriage Better

Michele Obama’s Advice

About an hour after I did yesterday’s post about having Valentine’s Day being the beginning of adding fun into your marriage, I read an article online at Monster and Critics which cited President Barack Obama’s wife, Michele Obama. Regardless of whether people agree with Mr. Obama or not, this was great advice that she gave for maintaining a good marriage.

Her advice? Laugh a lot. She said even with the stresses in the White House, that she and her husband (the President) find ways to laugh together. She’s quoted in the article as saying,

“‘I think in our house we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and laughter is the best form of unity, I think, in a marriage. We still find ways to have fun. A lot of it is private and personal. But we keep each other smiling, and that’s good.'”

What do you think of her advice? How do you find ways to laugh in your household?
