The Last Word

Tip 231

It Requires Great Strength

In your marriage how are the conversations between you and your spouse?

Does one person insist on having the last word?

from Clipart.com

Does one of you grumble or mumble something just to have the last word?

When was the last time either of you said, “You were right.”

When was the last time either of you just closed your mouth (without grimacing) and let the other person state an opinion without it being countered?

It takes strength to allow others to be right. It takes strength to let others have the last word.

For those of us who can’t give up having the last word, maybe the cat and dog could be trained to howl and meow appropriately on cue.
