Make New Memories

Tip 230

Stuck in a Rut

For something as simple as music played at Christmas, couples can get into many discussions—in other words, spouting adamant likes and dislikes. I’ve heard it said, “Oh, it’s just not Christmas without those old [1940’s and 1950’s] holiday songs playing.

To be aghast over anything new is a dead giveaway that you don’t adapt to change.

“The good old days” brings smiles and wistfulness, but what about today? Is today meant to be tossed aside?

Why not make now “the good old days” by looking expectantly to each day.

We’re never assured of having even one moment longer to live, so be exuberant each day.

Pull yourselves out of your rut and explore new memories with your mate! Decades from now you and your wife/husband will look back with fond memories of today’s good old days.

We’ve all gotten stuck in ruts–that’s life. What ruts have you been stuck in, and how did you get out? You can tell us by clicking on the comment button.
