Tip 223

They All Look Alike

If you are someone who loves the looks of beautifully wrapped packages under your Christmas tree or wherever you set your packages, then try wrapping them all alike or very similar. It makes something of an added Christmas decoration when your packages look beautiful.

Who has time to spend making each package look as elegant as possible? That’s the whole point of coordinating everything.

It saves time, money, headaches, and irritation if you buy all your paper to coordinate (all in reds or maybe metallics or greens or blues or burgundies—you get the idea). When you do this, then you have two or three bow colors that coordinate with the packages.

We’ve done this since our 2nd year of marriage. The first year was candy-cane striped paper, red polka-dot paper and solid red paper. Ever since that first year we tried this, we’ve realized how much less stressful all the wrapping is, and if you get tired of the color scheme, chose a different one.

And, if you love gorgeous looking packages and are married to someone who is wrapping-challenged, having everything coordinate covers a multitude of wrapping sins.

All this frees up more time so that you can sit by the fire and have a cup of hot cocoa and have some real fun.

Do you have tips you can share for making all the wrapping go faster and easier? You can tell us in the comment section below.

“Beautifully Wrapped Packages”

One year a friend and I took a weekend and did all of our shopping. We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast and wrapped everything. Because we had to plan it ahead of time, we got the paper cutters that make it faster, etc. and set up the area with cups of hot cocoa. It was a wonderful time. I think that would be fun to share with a sweetheart as well!
