You’ve Made the Magazine Cover

Tip 221

Play Around a Bit

Pick out a magazine cover that suits your purpose and super-impose your spouse’s head on the cover. You can do this by the old fashioned cut and paste method, then make a photo copy, or with your computer.

Adobe Photo Shop makes this task easy and refined, but most people don’t have this software.

If you don’t have software for working with photos, then it will take a little more time and finagling to get things just as you want, but use your scanner and various computer programs you might have.

If you don’t feel you know how to mess with the computer stuff, then pick out a photo, take it to Kinko’s or an office supply store, and ask them to enlarge or reduce the photo to the size you need.

There are also many shops which put photos on coffee mugs, etc. that can do this whole process for you.

The Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas used to make fictitious covers like this for people, but that was years ago, and I don’t know if they or others still do this. But, if you are in a tourist area, it’s something to check on.

It makes a fun birthday gift or gag gift.

Something even better is to get the whole thing really enlarged to at least an 11 x 17 or even larger poster size, and framed. Let your spouse come home and find it hanging in the house. That element of surprise and shock is always fun to watch.
