Grammar Lesson

The definition of a verb is “a word that shows action or state of being.”

Don’t forget that the word love is also a verb.

As years pass in a marriage, all the little quirks and idiosyncrasies of the other person (not me!) start grating on you. If you don’t remember that love is something you have to actively do and don’t rely on it just happening, then you’ll be more likely to stay in love because you’ve worked at loving.

The only perfect spouses were Stepford Wives, and no one wants that–well, you shouldn’t want it. It’s easy to love someone who is perfect; but love is purer when you can learn to love past the foibles that make people human.

(How do you keep loving your spouse when the little irritations seem to flash like neon lights? You can comment below.)
